I was looking through the Campground Reviews this evening and came across something unusual. In the Pennsylvania Campgrounds, I was looking at Ryerson Station S.P., a review I entered back in August of 2006. The reviewer's name should have been me but, instead, shows as Rich Pratt. Sorry, Rich, but I wrote that review. Under Rich's name, it shows him being registered in November of 2008. If this is true, how could he have posted a campground review that has a Review Date of Tue, August 22, 2006?

What happened? Can this be corrected and my name put back in as the rightful author?

Too bad I didn't have a copyright on my review. I could have sued.

I'll get it taken care of for you Frank. Rich's name was under your OP review of Baylor Beach, too, & I caught that one a while back & reported it, but I see it's still listed under Rich. If you know of other reviews of yours that got mis-labeled, let me know.

There was some hiccup when the conversion took place last year. Several of mine were mis-authored, too. I'm sure there are more, just no one's noticed yet.

I found Rich's name assigned to two other reviews I wrote- Homestead RV Sales, Service and Family Campground in Ohio and Hidden Springs Campground in Maryland.

Frank...
I brought the issue up here and asked members to check their own reviews. I would like to mention it again. Please check your reviews and let an Admin know so they can resolve the issue.

Members will also need to check on reviews they added to a campground entered by another member. A member's reviews will not show in their listings unless they were the originating poster.

In my case, I'm cross-referencing my camping log journal with reviews I made to find the ones where I wasn't the OP in order to verify those have my name on them instead of some other member's name.

I brought it up a long time ago and no one wanted to do anything about it. I guess it's not that big of a deal... it's the review not the author thats important.

Not if it's YOUR review some other member is getting credit for. I know when I take the time & make the effort to put in a review, I want members to know that's MY review.

It usually takes me at least 2 hours to do a review - that includes the time to take photos at the campground, download them to my laptop, figure out which ones to upload & resize them for here, then write up the initial review & add the secondary review so I can rate it & put in how much I paid. Now, I don't have to be this thorough; lots of reviews are WAY shorter than mine & no doubt, took way less time to enter. But I try to describe as much of the campground, it's facilities/ammenities &, if possible, give a tip on a nearby attraction or place to eat. I think members appreciate this. I know I do when I'm reading a review & trying to decide whether or not to make a reservation at a particular campground. I've chosen to stay at several campgrounds based on the reviews, especially those with pics, of members here. JMO.

Gee, I apologize for stirring up a hornet's nest. I didn't know I was beating a dead horse (or at least a horse that seems to have been ignored).

We are still looking for some solutions here and have developed a way to move the initial listing to the rightful poster - it's the additional review that is causing some extra head scratching... but this issue has not been forgotten.
