I PMed you back..You should see a "flashing" New PM just above where you have the other buttons... You need to click it OR go to your Private Messages and you will see my response.

I did a custom resize - you can find it here or I can always fix it for you too.

I'll be off the grid from later today until next Tuesday. So no hurry on any of this.

Thanks, folks.

See, what I don't understand is where that photo is in relation to iRV2. I know it's on my desktop and is in my Picasa album. I also don't know what "control click" means -- is that the same as "command click" for a Mac?

I sound like a real idiot. I certainly appreciate everybody's patience and attempts to make me understand. I don't know why I'm having such a hard time with this.

Sorry.

Send a message via Yahoo to Rick Long
The URL or as we all call it, the address for this picture is:

http://www.irv2.com/photopost/data/6...85_Custom_.JPG
Where it looks like spaces it is really underlines but the link underline is covering them, so please put an underline _ where the spaces are.

That address is telling you that the picture is stored on a Server (computer) who's address is "irv2" in a sub directory of "photopost" then sub "data" then sub "675" and the name of the file "Toyota...._1985_custom" and finally the files type "JPG", which is a picture file.

When someone says control and another key, they mean hold the control key down while pressing or clicking another key or item. If your using a MAC then yes the command key has a simular function but, not all funtions are the same.

Don't apologize.. as I am not a "Mac" user and a Mac person told me as I was leaving work... maybe it is command click. You do it on the photo to get to the properties..Go ahead and try "comman Click" on the photo to see if you get a URL like Rick is showing you. I will also tell you that you cannot use the photos from your computer-they must be uploaded in Picasa and you use the properties from the Picas photos.
Does this help at all? (I cannot afford to buy a Mac so I can learn how to tell you what to do)

Replying to both Rick and MonacoMama here:

Rick, I see the link. Where did you find that link? How do I find that link? When I click on that link, it will bring up my photo, yes?

And then I put my cursor on the photo and do a "command click" and its properties will show up. yes?

Or do I go to my Picasa album where I know the photo is? No, Rick says its hosted on iRV2 so it's not in Picasa anymore; a copy has been put into this new link place, right?

Do y'all know what a "swivet" is? That's what I feel like I'm in right now.

I'm going to click on the link in Rick's post and see what happens.

Stay tuned . . .

Okay, I clicked on the link and up came a page with the photo on my rig.

Command click got nothing.

Command I (for info) brought up all sorts of info about the pic and where it's living and its size and type etc etc. it also said it expires Sat 2/28.

Is that what y'all mean by properties? On Macs, you can get all info about a program, application, document, whatever, by doing a "command "i" hold down the command key and click the "i".

Of course, I don't know what to do with the info, but never mind.

ok...the command I that you did... did it bring up that same info that Rick showed you? It may be listed as the "URL" or "address" of the photo.
It may look kinda like Step #8 here

You can then follow the instructions from there on to post a photo...and you would need to use them from your Picasa account and not your hard drive in order for them to show up...

MovableBookLady,
Yes Command I will bring up the info you need. But if it is from YOUR computer then it will not work for a link to your picture. Instead, and I'm assuming you have, use iPhoto to upload it to MobileMe, then use the link that MobileMe gives you to paste into the Image URL on this forum.

Your image has to be on a server, any server. It does not HAVE to be on MobileMe. Picassa or any other server will work. You cannot have it come up from the MAC unless you want to share your MAC with the world, and that is not advisable.

You can also put your photo in iPhoto and put it on the iDisk (MobileMe is new MAC site) and copy that info link.

I have an iMac24 at home, but running the PC here with sync to MeMobile

Right, I do understand that it has be hosted on the web somewhere, and mine is actually in Picasa. That's where the pic that shows in my signature came from and where I did the "get info" command.

MonacoMama, I'll try to post some other picture and see what happens. However, it won't be for a while as I hit the road Sunday on my way back to NC for a month. So it'll be a week or two before I'm back online.

Thanks all for your efforts. I won't forget to keep trying to get it right.
