Dang, I knew there was something I wanted to put on the calendar for vacation planning!

Wonder if the boss will charge me a vacation day after the world ends ?!?!

but re Y2K, it would not have been world ending,
but a LOT of people spent LOT'S of time fixing LOT's of programs so the rollover from the two digit year of 99 to 00 didn't cause a LOT of miscalculations ....
for as long as computers were around MOST used just two digits for the year - after all, none thought they would worry about the century ever changing

if not for a team of 60 or so contractors and a 'black box' search program run against 3000 or so programs, and a year of effort ( GOOD money !!!!)
I know for a fact 7-11 owned by southland would have run out of lot's of merchandise, fuel, etc, .... their billing would have been 100 years out of phase, etc...

so extrapolate that out to all the computers at all banks, gas stations, nuclear plants, etc.... and it could have been a nuisance

All wrong. EoTW is next Tuesday at 3 PM PST. My cat told me so. He has not steered me wrong yet. Well, there was that one stock tip...

I just read an asteroid is going to hit central Arizona. I also heard if it does, they will move Quartzite to Nova Scotia. Probably not true though.

That's ok. They'll spread the germs and microbes to start a new destructive race.

End of the world for a few on 122112

Well statistical it will be the end for an est 150,000 people but so is the day before and probably the day after. But the good news is it is the beginning for an est 360,000 people.

We'll be in Playa Del Carmen, MX when all this supposedly happens. Told my wife to bring towels for when the tsunami hits.
I expect since we'll be where the action is every loonytoon left over from Burning Man will be there along with all the other Fruits and Nuts. Promises to be an interesting vacation.....
We'll report back on the 22nd if we still have internet access.
