2017 Travel plans
We have started planning for next season starting in Alaska April 2017 heading into Utah (Bryce Canyon) is on the list. Just wondering about the weather in Bryce last week of April, first week of May? Two years ago we were in the area and it snowed for three days at Bryce, we were Zion it was in the mid 70s is that typical?
Does anyone have a favorite place in Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon?

Bryce, Zion, Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands and basically anywhere in Southern Utah. Beauty abounds in that part of the US.

Just did Utah in late May and loved it. We did Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands and Dead Horse State park. Also did Goblin Valley which we didn't think was worth the $13 or the drive to get there, just our opinion. The best thing we learned was to ask the locals where we should go and what to see. We stayed in Cedar City (KOA) first and were told to see Parowan Gap and Kolab Canyons Zion. Well worth seeing. Then we stayed in Green River UT (KOA) and asked the locals what to see and saw a cold geyser on the Green river, a ghost town outside of town, but our favorite was Black Dragon Canyon. Off the beaten path and you need 4wd to see it but it is awesome. There is a huge cave up high in the rocks if you know where to lookt. We are headed back there in 2017 to spend time in Moab, where there is a ton of stuff to do. When you thin of Eastern Utah most think of desert and not much to see, but they are wrong. Go and have fun but make sure you have time to see more than just the big parks.

Look closely at the picture to the left, that is Observation Point looking down on Angels landing in Zion two years ago.
Zion is my favorite park, but I still need to visit Bryce my brother in-law's favorite.
You are all right they are all grand.

We've been to Caynon land, Arches we ran out of time when last in Moab.
We will be hitting Bryce, Monument Valley, North Grand Canyon, we'll try Dead Horse, we would also like to float the Green River.
Weather is my main issue because we have start in April. The altitude makes weather more winter like that time of the year but closer to summer weather for us. If anyone is interested we'll be heading home to Alaska last week of May, we haven't chosen a route but the Cassiar is our favorite, more to see easier to camp quiet. End of July we are planning another trip down to Stewart, bear watching. We may even contine South.

We will be heading back thru Salt Lake, then on to I84 toward Portland.
Our interest is in the waterfalls and the Columbia Gorge. Does anyone have places they would like to suggest?
As of right now we are planning to head back thru Oroville, WA up to Prince George that being our next decision point, Cassiar or Alcan.

We are getting ready for a 3 month trek along the Gulf states (staying near the gulf). We will be starting in Florida (spending nearly a month there) and then 2 months getting to Phoenix where we will store the coach till summer.
Any suggestions???

We visited Arches in April and we walked on top of snow banks.
Cedar Breaks was closed. Deep snow. the snowmobilers were still riding.

A bunch of my friends and I are planning to be in Oregon to watch it.
Bryce Canyon is at 8,000-9,000 feet and is pretty frozen over until June. Utah has the most spectacular scenery!
