Pain is part of life. There are many of ways to deal with pain other abusing a drug everyone knows is highly addictive. Rather than lying to a doctor to get more highly addictive medicine, how about talking to a doctor about pain management.
Or let Darwin take its course. I really don't care, just don't take away my medically necessary medicines because someone else abuses them.

Me thinks you don't quite understand addiction.
Spoiler alert, it's not always a character flaw.

As several have stated, this is an RV forum, so I think the key lesson learned is don't carry illegal stuff (drugs, guns, aliens - the ones from area 51) in your RV. What might be legal in one area might be illegal in another. And you don't want them seizing your $500k rig.

Really because alcohol and prescription opioids destroy exponentially more families and lives than pot. This tunnel vision because it is labelled a "Drug" is the real problem. It's legal so it must be better vs it's illegal so everyone that touches it should die will not solve anything.

Would you say the same about gun manufacturers? Where do you stop?

Then what explains why the vast majority of people who use a substance such as alcohol and opioids do not get addicted, while a few do? We are all subject to the same external stimulus, yet some become addicted and some do not. We all have flaws, I still have to think about right and left but have 3:00 and 9:00 down pat. That's messed up, but I own it and work at it. Smoking is an example in our view right now; many of us have been able to quit over the past several decades, but some seemingly cannot.
"Spoiler alert". Wow, how original. Was that necessary?

Once again, it appears as you don't understand how addiction works.
Addiction is not always a choice especially when it starts with a doctor prescribing a pill.
Google is a good place to start.

Addiction is a disease, just as any other illness.
Why can some people smoke like a freight train and NOT get cancer.
Until one comes to terms that addiction is a disease they will not understand.

My 2 cents, with Chicago being a major hub for drug traffickers, I would hope the State Police are looking for suspicious vehicles/individuals in an area just SW of Chicago. I assume they were looking for anything that looked out of the norm. In this case the reason given was that the RV van’s headlights weren’t on, even though it was raining. Realistically this wasn’t the only thing that may have led to him being pulled over. It was just one of the reasons. That doesn’t make it bogus. Given the thousands of vehicles passing through that area on a daily basis, it’s impressive that they managed to spot this guy. Though racial profiling is obviously bad, that’s not true of all profiling.

They knew. Something of this size was reported beforehand and the LEA decided to protect their confidential informant.
I worry about speed traps as I travel around, but a stopped vehicle for headlight infraction during time of questionable limited visibility leading to a 600K dollar confiscation is just to much of a stretch.
He should of not cheated on his girlfriend, lol. Tongue in cheek, since significant others are the number one informant for drug charges.

Legal intoxicants kill a whole lot of people and ruin lives just as surely as illegal intoxicants. We reward most of the professionals who enable this. That this irony escape some of our iRV2 participants is not surprising.

I wonder what was the probably cause to search his home? But I guess that much weed would have an overpowering smell.

No wonder I-80 in Illinois is in such bad shape. These overloaded drug-laden RVs are creating POTholes!
