Hi guys, I just got a brand new shiny pacemaker. This little present was a complete surprise! I used to love surprises, now, not so much. The cardiologist says I'm looking good.
I guess I'm writing this to ask if any of you, with a pacemaker, thinks that it has complicated your full timing lifestyle. Is there anything I should be cautious about? My only real concern is the power generator, below the floor, interferring with the pacemaker while driving with generator running. Thanks,
Dave

Dave, I have had a pacemaker for almost seven years now. I got my shiny gift in April 2004, at the age of 59. It has not restricted my activities much. I do not feel any ill effects from generators or microwaves. I even use an electric arc welder in my shop with no ill effects. My doctor told me if I feel weak when using electronic equipment, just step away from it. Good luck with your new gift. I think mine has saved my life.

I have one and was told that the distributer on gas engines were what to watch . The only thing I have problems with is patting my self on the back and pulling up the straps on my bibs. Shoulder straps on seat belts in drivers seat kinda iritate.
I tend to think of the alternitive and it feels better.

The big annoyance is if you fly and have to go thru security. They send you around the metal detector where you have to wait for someone to come and check you by hand.Meanwhile the wife is waiting at the walkthru cause she can't handle the carryon . When they tell her to move she suggests someone come check me so I can help her.

Another minor problem is that I am fortunate enough that I have a model with possible defective leads. They may deteriorate and start sending false signals to activate the defibrilator.I have a home monitor that I use monthly . The Dr check it, tells me I am still alive and send me a bill.
