EPA announced today that they are going to be introduce "Tayloring" which is a back door method of Cap and Trade that failed to pass congress. It is also taking away green house gas control (alleged) from the states and relooking at 130 fossil fuel power plants necessary to provide power for our economy. Look for energy prices to skyrocket (quoting the president). The House and Senator Rockafeller (D-WV) are introducing legislation to stop this regulator action and leave it to the elected folks.

........are we contributing to it, well if some one who has been in a major city where it's 5 to 10 degrees warmer than the surrounding area how can you doubt it? .....

Easily. Might it be that the "stuff" that makes up the modern city, ie streets, sidewalks, buildings, vehicles, all gathering and holding heat and windows reflecting sunlight, etc, and the fact that we measure that higher temperature down there amongst all of it, is the simple reason for your 5 to 10 degrees difference...compared to standing out in the open in a nice field outside the city.

It does get pretty cold in the desert after the sun goes down.

Cities are dry.. the humidity of the countryside has a cooling effect. Your warmer in a city 'cause you killed all the trees.

Folks you've made my point for me, were does all the heat generated by our cities, highways, energy plants, vehicles and such go? It is dispersed into the atmosphere where each little bit adds up.

Why do they call it global warming. If you had a layer of smog over you and the sun can't get thru, isn't it cooler? Cooler on cloudy days than on sunny days. Nothing makes any sense anymore.

Lets get them coal furnaces back like in the 50's.

Actually, if your in snow country, you'll notice that the temps are warmer on cloudy days as opposed to clear. Yes, the Sun feels warmer when it hitting you directly, but the overall air temps are cooler.

Sorry.. the amount of land covered by cities is just not great enough to cause this effect. At least not to any extent so as to upset the global temperature balance..

The heat from the cities is the whole problem, but not in the way you think. It is called the urban heat island affect. Since 1980 over 85% of the thermometers historically uses have been removed and they were mainly in the country and the city ones remain. Many of the ones formerly at in country and now due to urban expansion are now in the city. The two governmental bodies responsible for maintaining the date are GSI in America and GRU in the UK. Both of them recognize the urban heat island affect and “allow” for it by adjusting the temperature data downwards, but not enough. They keep saying that this is the warmest year ever, but that is with the “homogenized” data. Records from stations in the country without the urban hear island affect show no global warming, just natural ups and downs with the 1930’s being the hottest (dust bowl days).
As far as the heat from the cities heating up the planet, there isn’t enough volume. Back when Sec. Chu of the Energy Department wanted to paint all roofs and roads in the US, white to reflect the sun, it was determined that in the US, this was less than ˝ of 1 % of the land mass. Fly over the US to prove that to yourself. If you want to see some of these stations that are being used to make these claims, click below:

Similar drop in the number of real stations has occurred all over the world in developed countries and the satellite data which has been done for about 30 years does not show the increases of the bogus station data, but that isn’t “sexy” for the news. They are comparing average temperatures of all 8,000 previously there with the 1200 now there mainly in the cities. Just part of the scam.

Anyone who spends any time in the west (west of the Mississippi) must realize the vast amount of open spaces in this country. There are large areas that are not even inhabited. Most of the world's population is centered in comparably small areas. When looking at the entire globe you also must realize the majority of land mass is relatively void of inhabitants. Now when you also consider most of our planets surface is covered in water or ice and would be also considered void of habitation, the only conclusion to climate change would be natural in nature and not man made. Evidence of this would be sustianed when looking back in history at the many ice ages that occured with extreamly low population levels and before any industrialization.

And all this time I thought mankind was punching holes in the ozone layer surrounding the earth thereby letting in the bad rays from the sun and warming things up a bit. Gimme back my R-12 freon, and the bad propellants for my spray paint cans and deodorant!!

Hello,
One thing I have observed about the global warming crowd is they are hypocrites. Never see them walking or growing food organically (or any other way). Usually they use more fuel and electricity than the average person. One thing some of them are good at though is selling books and pure H%^$# S*^% to anyone that will listen.

I suppose that makes them more educated and intelligent than people that can think.

Saw an article the other day about finding corpses of people that lived in Greenland that ice had melted and exposed. They were excited about experimenting with those corpses that had been frozen for a long time and covered with snow.

Idiots never thought about it was warmer when they lived and died and then got covered with snow for a very long time. So much for the reasoning ability of the global warming religion.

Just my two cents worth and it isn't worth that to a lot of people.

Best Regards,
rops
