A Good year...

So... by my own personal measuring stick... this was a good year for us..

Seeing as our baby is sitting at the shop waiting to be winterized and, for all intent and purposes, our season is over... I did some quick calculations... We spent 32 nights in our RV this year...

It may not be much to some.. but it was a lot for us.. Here's to breaking that record next year !!!!

What was YOUR number this year?

And no rubbing it in by all you FT'ers and retired folk

Congradulations. We will be in our m/h for a total of 10 months and 2 months in our 5th wheel b4 that.

So you see the time spent is great and we enjoy it more each day.

We are amongst the ranks of the "retired folks", so I will return to the days when we were both working. Forget about the tents, the pop-ups, and even the 16' trailer pulled by our Jeep CJ-7 (YIKES!). Let's begin with the 2 class-C's and the boat. . .

The first year we decided if we did not use the coach at least 30 nights, and the backyard of our house DID NOT count, we would not keep it. To our surprise, the first year we got 50 nights usage! The second year, we hit 60 nights. After that, we were usually able to hit the 50-day mark, but found we only were using the boat no more than 30 days. After 5 years, goodbye Miss ChrisCraft! It was the only "RV" we actually made money on, oh well you gotta pay for entertainment. . .

We did not have your typical 9-5 jobs, she worked every other weekend in the ER (12-hour shifts), and I worked 24-hour shifts at the fire station with a 4-day break every week. We usually tweaked our schedules to be off together Monday thru Thursday during the summer months, so we arrived at the State Parks as everybody was leaving, and we left as they were arriving. Colorado has over 40 state parks, so it worked out great for our family. We made the standard 2-week trips most summers to places like both Disney's and to a lot of the Nat'l parks. We sure do miss those years with our kids, thanks for reminding us of the good times!

Around 100 total (both retired) Would have been more, but she sat at the incompetent dealer for 6 weeks waiting on repairs. Hoping to get in another week before winterizing.

We were sorry RV-rs this year. Like you Eric, we're still working. Did only about 25 days due to a S&B kitchen remodel as well as some RV repairs that bit into our CG $$'s. Now it's winterized & put to bed until Spring. There's always next year I guess.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

We don't keep track, but it wasn't enough! Too many of the DW's were spent in the hospital.
