My parents saved everything for the day they retired. My mother passed away at 62 years old ,two years before she retired.

changed my outlook on life. live now before it's too late.

JimM68, Life as we know it is "passing us by", as you so aptly stated. However, it is what we do with the time we have that makes the difference between feeling somewhat frustrated as we get older and can't do all that we once did, and making the best of what we have and enjoying life to the fullest extent possible.
