A Visitor Today

We have been on the road since August, and one of the things we miss is our family back home. Today, part of that problem will be over. Our 10 year old granddaughter and our daughter are flying from Lexington, Kentucky to Denver to spend 5 days with us touring the Rocky Mountains. We are ready for the visit! There is 10 days worth of things to do planned, so they can pick and choose. We are set up in a State Park near the airport that has full hookups , the refrigerator is packed with good things to eat, and the coach is as clean as it has ever been.

Now for the big problem of having to wait until this evening when they arrive. Oh yes, I still need to go out and buy a big bunch of flowers.

We live in the central rocky mountains, just east of the continental divide. It is raining heavily today, with flash flood watches issued throughout the mountains for today and tomorrow. Tonight, the warnings include winter advisories, including 8-10" of wet snow for elevations about 9,000'. It looks like the snow line is getting closer to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park, so just be sure to check the weather along the way. CDOT has a great website to monitor the roads. We have camped there several times with weather like this, sometimes the weather forecasts are correct, sometimes not. Good luck, and be safe!
