I love kids, but other people's children are often a problem. Today's parenting model is to let the kids do anything they want and to attack anyone who tries to control them. This makes it really tough on the campground staff trying to keep the park well managed.

I agree with Frank & Brenda, It's all about the peace and quite. Now don't get me wrong, I love kids, but there has to be a place and time for them. It's all about respect as well, kids (or their parents)now days don't even know what the word means let alone exercise it! It also gives a whole new meaning to quite time!

I like squealing, yelling, piercing, unsupervised, young kids running around.

But I like them far from where I am at!

No kids here, and a cat that never goes outside is far more noisey than visiting grandparents with 20 grand kids vising I guess.

Unreal, they probably would have turned away a young carpenter and young expecting mother in the middle of the night.
Think about it. ......

I don't know I find that the best parks are the ones that have rules, and whether
I like the rules or not, they apply to everyone that uses the park.

I believe it is much simpler than most of the comments I just read. The 55 parks and communities are not charged by the powers that be for school taxes! The government exempts them. My understanding but not confirmed.

Interesting thought.

The school tax Levi exemption is an interesting theory but not sure if it is valid. Could be I guess if there is legislation in place for that.

The only reason I would question that is you have many couples without children in the home (S&B) then that would want the same exemption to apply to them. And I believe that if tested in court would have to allow it to be applied equally.

That would be a nightmare.

But then again, in today's world nothing surprises me with fairness or common sense.

At least here in Harris County, Texas, our individual property-based school taxes certainly don't disappear when we qualify for the over 65 exemption, and they most assuredly don't change (for the better, at least) at age 55.

I thought about it. It seems to be a stretch.

Do we really know how old Joseph and/or Mary were? I think at most of these 55+ parks, only one person needs to be that old. Chances are Mary wasn't, but maybe Joseph was.
