Never call back an unknown number as it confirms your number is a good one to be sold to other sales callers.

Can do that on a land line

Dave, I guess I'm a little slow today! If you're on a land line, how are you scrolling down? Maybe on some particular home phone?

We just bought a new AT&T phone system from Costco that has call blocker and all those feature. Didn't work for us, the robo callers are wise and using rotating phone numbers. If we blocked "private call" many of the Doctors offices, etc. are now on VOIP (cable phone system) and do not caller ID. The nursing service for my aging mother was one of those so I had to take off "private call" etc.. All the features on the new phone system didn't serve our needs.

After I recieve the call and there is no one there I save the number to my contact list and title it: SALESCALL. When they call back it shows up on caller ID and I reject the call. I also do this for any sales call (even the ones that talk to you).
Sooner or later they will get tired of calling. (I HOPE!!!)

I have a TEXT NOW number..this number is for Text messages only..they pop up on the computer

I've had them call it.. (OF course they got no answer).

Sadly they spoof numbers so every call may well be from a different state (Even though the scammers calling are all in the same place) but on a smart phoen you go to call log..Long press and choose "Add to Reject List" and that will stop THAT number from annoying you.

IF you can ID them,, it's 500 per call (and please post their contact info)

I have ID'ed one..They think they had an out (And they do for ONE line in Title 47) but they only violated about 5 different provisions so when I get back to MI.. Have I got an EXPENSIVE surprise for them.

You have DSL from your phone company? You might be able to get rid of the voice part of the package. But if not, just don't plug a phone into the box. No phone, no ring, no calls.

Sometimes they call from 3 or 4 different numbers so I can "caller ID and reject" easier than accidently answering a robo-call when it is from a new number

The Public Service Commissioner in our area has a department that tries to track down the telemarketers who call people on the do-not-call list. They have had some success, putting some of them out of business and collecting huge fines from others! The fines they collect totally pay for the lawyers and other employees in that department.

I love telemarketers. When they call I let them talk for a few seconds and then say "oh, could you hold on just a second?"

Then I put the phone down near the TV and come back 10 or 15 min later. Funny, there's never anyone on the other end.
