My first car was $50 and I started moving up having a lot of sweet cars like a 58 Ford convert, 351 3spd blk and wht. 60 Pont convert, 64 Skylark v8 4 spd ps pb tint wind spinners. At 21 I started selling cars, at 23 was used car mgr for Ford agency. Eventually gm. Also wholesaled cars for 5 yrs.

Never really had a personal car until 2008 buying a 2002 Corvette (picture on left). After showing at shows I started spiffing it up and now I carry it in a matching trailer creating a stir at rv parks and in small mountain towns. I take it on gravel roads, anywhere. I keep her clean as much as I can and keep it up mechanically. Just attended annual Vette show in Yakima, Wa and was a welcome guest for 3 days of fun with the club. I always look for car shows while traveling and have a few more trophies.

Thanks guys for all the postings. I can see that they're labors of love.

I cannot remember of all the cars I had--starting with the 1950 Packard I learned to drive in the backyard at age 8. I cringe about all the cars I bought and sold over the years. I've had over 100 new cars--working in the car business.

But I'll have to admit that not any of them will accelerate, handle and perform flawlessly like the Lexus IS sitting out in my driveway.

My play car is the first of the really high tech cars--99 Jaguar XK8 convertible. Too bad all the CAN/BUS electronic components in my car don't work as well as those in modern automobiles. But's it's an incredibly beautiful car to have on the road on a sunny Fall day.

Update fastest I've been is around 75 because of gearing and low profile tires but we just clocked 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds

My first car was a 1953 Jaguar MkVII sedan (silver bought in 1957). Next was a new 1959 Austin Healey Sprite (bug-eye lights, blue). Then a 1961 Austin Healey 3000 (Colorado Red). Got tired of the side curtains so bought a 1965 AH 3000 MkIII (BRG). When I replaced the Dunlap tires with Pirrelli radial tires I found out you couldn't cross rotate these tires (found out years later). Needless to say I ended up with 1978 Triump TR250. Totaled the TR in 1970 on an icy road. Then moved to a 3/4 ton Ford Econolan van with a 260 with 3 on the tree.

Later on got a used German Ford with the small v-6 and a sprite (can't remember the years - senior memory, ya know).

Of all the cars above I would love to have the '65 AH.
