Any peanut farmers out there ?

About two months ago I spotted a small plant growing in our veggie bed. Not where I had planted anything. There was a open peanut shell close by. We have lots of squirrels in our area. Hmmmm

So I dug it up and put it into a 5 gallon pot. It is about 2x2' now and produced yellow flowers and some "pegs" (says a garden book) that went into the ground. Supposedly, the pegs will produce peanuts. We shall see......

OK, now what? Anything special I need to do to harvest this huge crop? Or just wait and see?

Good luck with the goobers. This does not automatically qualify you to run for President even if you get a crop!

You'll know when the harvest is ready because that's when the squirrel will come back and get it...

Deer love peanuts. When the peanut crop is almost ready deer will show up and paw then out of the ground. Beware of deer on the patio.
