Anybody been on a safari?

I've been looking at going to Tanzania on safari but have no idea where to start. Seems like flying KLM to Kilimanjaro and driving to Arusha, meeting up with a guide and going for it is pretty common. Prices? Recommendations? Any help would be appreciated.

We used General Tours in August 2010 and it was everything it was advertised to be, flawless.

We arranged the tour through our local AAA office.
