Anybody see "Captain Phillips" yet?

I seldom go to theaters to see movies, but had to see this one. An awesome movie, based on the 2009 Somali pirate attack on the Maersk Alabama. Tom Hanks, IMHO, is one of the finest actors of our time. A real nail-biter. I wish more films were this good.

I go to a lot of movies. I saw it and agree. It was a great flick and Tom Hanks was terrific.

We saw it on the Friday release date. It was great and I agree, Tom Hanks is a great actor. I can't remember a movie I've seen with him starring that I did not enjoy.

Yep, the press releases said "3 shots, 3 clean kills" Now we find that 13 rounds were fired.
Haven't seen the movie yet but want to.

We are overnighting at Rv Glass Solutions, Coburg, OR. Went to see Capt. Phillips while waiting to have our windshield replaced. Haven't been to a movie in years but we're glad we picked this one. Tom Hanks deserves an Oscar for this role. I hope he doesn't get beat out by someone who gets one out of sympathy because "he is due".

Did you see "Turner & Hooch". I didn't enjoy this one at all.

Hanks is definitely better at dramatic acting than comedic. He was great in "Saving Private Ryan", and "Castaway".

We very much enjoyed "castaway" and if I had a nickel for every time I've had to sit through "You've got Mail" ..... but I like the musical score.

We live across the street from the US Seal Museum and the real lifeboat from this is there. Captain Phillips came and spoke to us two years ago on Veteran's Day. He spent an hour detailing exactly what happened.
Moviw was pretty close according to his book, but not quite!

Wish we'd gone instead of to Gravity today. It was a mediocre but I did enjoy the views in space.
