Apple Pie- The Liquid type

Last year I heard about Apple Pie, the Liquid type, while I was in Gaffney. I'll be in Marathon FL in January and Miami in February and would love to try some. Being a city boy (with a country heart) I never had a taste of anything like it yet. Feel free to pm me if you like.

We have made this for our Civil War reenactments. It is great - almost too good. Here is the recipe. Either 1/2 it or have lots of bottles ready. Makes a lot.

l gallon apple cider
1/2 gallon apple juice
5 cinnamon sticks
3 cups sugar
750 mililiters gran alcohol (Everclear)

Combine everything except alcohol, bring to a boil, simmer 30 mins., remove cinnamon, add alcohol, cool and bottle.

I'm a Yankee who married a Southern Belle. First time I met her Daddy, he shared some peach 'shine with me.

I was never a fan of peaches before that, but I have seen the light!

Here ia another receipe that is a quite nice "apple pie" hot tottie:

TUACA Hot Apple Pie

1 1/2 oz TUACA
5-6 oz warm apple cider
whipped cream
cinnamon stick

Pour ingredients into a mug.
Garnish with whipped cream and a cinnamon stick.

Anderson, SC and Greenville, SC both have Moonshine Distilleries that are selling to the public. Dark Corner Distillery is one. They have plain, Butterscotch, Peach, Apple Pie, and many others. They give samples if you visit. There are also many places to camp up here and both towns are within a 45 minute ride of each other.
I live close to both and hear rave reviews of the product. The Butterscotch is my personal favorite!

Over here in Jr. Johnson territory, we don't rate it in proof or alcohol %. It's how many fights per quart! Some are allergic to the stuff, they break out in hand cuffs!

Oh God, My head still hurts every time I hear of this stuff. Ever Clear is like 3000 proof or something like that you know. Some friends of mine made some of this stuff up and gave me some of it at the park once. I was barely able to stagger back down the 6 foot wide path to my own camper, then I tripped over a charcoal grill that was on the ground, crawled into my camper on my hands and knees, and went to bed. I woke up, sort of, 8 hours later but, it was another 6 hours before I could get out of the camper because I had the dry heaves for that long. I'll never touch the stuff again. In fact I call it "Liquid Apple Death". That's a much better name for it.
