There are several States that go beyond problematic in their treatment of firearms. NJ is probably the most energetic about it but IL with the FOID (Firearm Owner Identification Card) that only residents can get is a close second.

NJ Port Authority police have arrested individuals who attempted to carry firearms in their vehicles using Federal Firearm Owners Protection Act or FOPA. That should trump any State regulations but it doesn't in NJ. The most recent case that I know about is when a couple of out of State passengers drove into the Newark airport and attempted to check their handguns with their luggage. TSA permits guns in checked luggage if you follow the rules but these fellows were not allowed to comply. NJ has also arrested citizens from other States who brought their guns through NJ.

An IN resident was arrested in IL because he did not have an IL FOID.

The Law Enforcement Officer Security Act (LEOSA) is a Federal law that gives retired police officers and a few others the right to keep firearms in all 50 States. I have never heard of a State attempting to overule LEOSA so that is the only way that I know to be legal in all 50 States. Perhaps I'm just ill informed.

In AZ and VT, individuals without permits can open carry handguns.

These 2 states also allow concealed carry without a permit. There is no way to know how many of us are armed!

Yep, that's the problem of trying to say legal. If the Feds don't step on the RKBA (2nd Amendment), the States or the municipalities do. When you add in the magazine size restrictions and the restrictions on hollow point ammo, it really gets crazy to figure out what is actually legal.

It could get worse. Part of Agenda 21 is for the US to adapt the UN ban on guns. That would make the US like the UK and Australia, where good citizens are not allowed to have them but bad guys are. If that happens, we may long for the day when the local laws in MO stopped open carry.

I'am a firm believer in the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy". It's no ones business what I carry on my person or in my coach. I'll just leave it this way, When it gets down and dirty, I'll do what it takes to defend myself with whatever tools I have at hand!

As for this,,,

I don't think you'll see this happen, there are more gun owners out there then they think and if they want to keep their happy little scam jobs going the politicians won't let this happen.
It's past time the U.S. tells the UN to pack up and hit the pike, they've leached off of us long enough!
I didn't

Just my thoughts on a good spoken topic

Regards,
RovinOn

If you are going to have a gun you MUST understand the laws that will affect you should you decide to use that weapon. Understand the difference between criminal liability for shooting someone versus the civil liability. (You may be 100% in the right as far as criminal law is concerned...that does not mean you are safe from a civil lawsuit...one that can ruin you even if you prevail.)
Understand what will happen if and when you fire that gun. Bullets don't stop at some magical line...they keep going through walls, especially thin RV walls. They fly off in strange directions after hitting something...and they, through Murphy's Law, will find some innocent person to hit.
What will you do when you pull a gun on someone....say someone is stealing gas from your rig...they are not armed and they refuse to comply with you? Are you going to shoot them for a misdemeanor crime?
I will tell you that being tried by 12 sucks...alot. Even when you prevail it takes a couple years off of your life.
As for carrying an unloaded gun...what is the point? May as well get a baseball bat.

If you are going to carry a gun, rifle or shotgun...go get CURRENT training. Learn to shoot in a stress situation and learn the law.
