sign or see ID

I worked for a large autoparts store where it is not unusal for a customer to make a purchase for several hundred dollars. I wish to protect BOTH the card holder and my employer. If you do not sign the card and a thief has your card I guarantee their signature will match the card signature. For my own cards I both sign and write on the card "see photo ID". I put the see photo ID in large letters on the front of the card. I always thank the cashier for asking for ID hoping they will always be diligent in doing this. As for slowing the check out process, it takes only a very few seconds to do this. Time well spent in my opinion.

This is a good practice.
It does not stop the hackers that got the data online from Target (et al).

I should have been on here talking about $1,000,000... someone made a small charge (to test the water as they say) of $10 on my Amex today at a website called "MYCAPTURE ONLINE PHOTO SE". I have had this card since 1994 without a problem and did not use it at Target. Grrrrrrrrr.

As was said before, it's most likely offshore operations and even if they made it a mandatory death sentence, there's virtually no way to catch these slime bags.(Dunner is being polite). Then of course the tree hugger would claim unreasonable punishment.
