As a Hoosier I must comment:

Actually when I first moved here 30 years ago, I drove from Indy to Lafayette on I-65 and I thought, "this is the worst freeway I have ever been on." It's been repaired and destroyed several times since then.
There is a major construction and widening of I-65 north of Indy in the Lebanon area and they have just completed construction of I-465 belt south of Indy. Ultimately should be nice. Of course with the freeze and thaw problems and heavy truck usage, by the time they finish it all, it will be time to start repairing all over again.
