we enjoyed our visit to Bar Harbor and the surrounding area .... would most certainly like to go back .... the recommendations for places to see that have already been noted are good ones .... in the AVOID category, unless it has changed hands, stay away from the Chowdah House downtown Bar Harbor .... we stopped there for a bowl of clam chowder and while the view from the deck was fine, the food was terrible .... when we got back to the Bar Harbor KOA where we were staying, the lady at the desk asked where we had eaten .... when we told her, she said she wished she had of known so she could warn us .... according to her the new owners had the attitude that tourist only eat there once which went a long way in explaining the food quality (or better stated, the lack thereof)

Which KOA did you stay at? Woodside or Oceanside? Our RSVP is at Oceanside....

We stayed at Oceanside a gentleman there in the park had a booth that sold these lobster dinners. You walk over and order how many you want and in about 20 minutes he delivers to your RV. 2 year ago it was $20 per meal I thing.

My favorite restaurant in Bar Harbor is Poor Boy's Gourmet, 300 Main St.

Good food at reasonable prices, especially if you get there in time for the "Early Bird Menu".

Zoom in on this boat and they give an excellent lobster boat tour. They show you how the retrieve the traps and set them along with a couple hour trip

Park Loop Road (Acadia) is an incredible drive. Cadillac mountain offers great views any time of day! (No we did not make it up there for sunrise...haha!) Take Bar Harbor Road (hwy #3) out of Bar Harbor (about half way to Ellsworth) you will find on your right a little place called "Mainely Meat" - great lobster, inexpensive, good breakfast and great ice cream - not all in the same meal! Ha!!
