Many thanks guys. I am doing good. Just taking one day at a time. Doing some memory trips some of the time. Laughing and crying in about equal amounts. Willa giving me plenty of slack when I need it. Listening and laughing and crying with me sometimes.

Be back soon.. Again, MANY THANKS FRIENDS..

Lets not forget our troops in our prayers .......

Seajay, everything must come to pass. There is a rule of life that requires all of us to go on and leave behind those we love and those who love us. You sit back and reminisce and remember the great times you had with your uncle/older brother. He would want you to be happy but he also would want you to remember him as a fun and enthusiastic relative. Not all of us have so pleasant a series of memories with someone we held so dear. Enjoy his memory as you were lucky to have had someone so special. My condolences on your loss. Peace.

Seajay, we are sorry about your lost. I also lost my Kid Brother on Feb. 5th, Retired Sgt. First Class. He just turned 50 and was more like a son growing up with my Daughters.
It is hard at first, but how we cope is that, we should be happy for him as he is sitting at the table of God.

Attitude is everything!!
Knowing you are in the next generation to go is disconcerting.
Knowing you will meet again is comforting.
God Bless!!

a tribute to my Uncle Paul....

Yesterday we went down to the lake to a ceremony to honor the life of my Uncle Paul. There was perhaps fifty people there that their lives had been influenced by this great man. Paul was cremated and his ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony sometime later.
I asked the spokesman if I might say something in remembrance of my friend. He said sure. I had written a poem that morning. Mind you I am not a poet but this came to me at about five in the morning and I simply got up and started typing into the computer.
It is all capps so I could see it better and I am sorry for that .....

here it is.....

A TRIBUTE TO MY UNCLE PAUL ....

THE SUN CAME UP THIS APRIL DAY AND CAST UPON A SKY SO GRAY
DIM LIGHT TO PASS THE EARLY NIGHT AND MAKE OUR DAY DAWN CLEAR AND BRIGHT.

TODAY I SAY GOOD BYE TO HIM,
TODAY I REALLY LOSE A FRIEND
A MAN I'VE KNOWN MOST ALL MY LIFE
THE ''HURT'' WILL CUT JUST LIKE A KNIFE.

HE SHOWED ME HOW TO WALK AND BE
A TRUE MAN, BRAVE AND STRONG LIKE HE
HE SHOWED ME HOW TO STAND UP TALL
MY BROTHER, MY FRIEND MY ''UNCLE PAUL''

HE SHOWED ME WHAT WAS RIGHT AND WRONG
HE SHOWED ME HOW TO STAND UP STRONG
AND KEEP YOUR ''WORD'' THOUGH IT MAY BE
TO FRIEND OR KIN OR ENEMY.

TO HIGH ROCK WE WOULD GO AND PLAY AND REALLY HAVE A BALL
HE WAS ''BIG BROTHER'', MY BEST FRIEND TOO, HIS NAME WAS UNCLE PAUL.
HE'D PICK ME UP AT HOME AND GO DOWN TO THE RIVER HERE BELOW
TO FISH AND SKI AND LAUGH AND TALK, IF IT WAS ''FUN'' HE DID NOT BALK.

AN EIGHTEEN JOHNSON WE WOULD PLACE ON TRANSOM OF HIS BOAT
AN OLD '' STRIP BOAT'' WITH SILVER PAINT, A WONDER IT WOULD FLOAT.
IT WASN'T MUCH BUT IT WOULD DO FOR FISHIN, FUN AND SKIING TOO
AND EACH IN TURN WOULD TAKE THEIR PLACE
BEHIND THE BOAT AND JOIN THE RACE
TO SKI THE LAKE OR LEARN TO SKI, HE EVEN TAUGHT A BOY LIKE ME
TO RIDE THE ''BOARDS'' AND JUMP THE WAKE AND SOMETIME 'CHANCES'' WE WOULD TAKE
TO HAVE SOME FUN, MAKE MEMORIES TOO. SOME TIMES I'D COME HOME BLACK AND BLUE.

WE'D SIT AND TALK AND ACT A FOOL AND PLAY OUR LIVES AWAY.
I'LL MISS MY FRIEND, I'LL MISS HIS WORDS UNTIL MY DIEING DAY.

TODAY I SAY GOOD BYE MY FRIEND AND I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER WHEN
WE FISHED AND SWAM AND SKIED THE LAKE AND WATCHED OUR LIVES
PASS IN THE ''WAKE'' OF TIME AND SUCH GREAT MEMORY
MY TRUE, TRUE FRIEND YOU'LL ALWAYS BE.

I'LL MISS MY FRIEND BUT HE WILL BE
HERE IN MY MIND AS YOU CAN SEE
AND TIME OR DISTANCE CANT ERASE
THE MEMORIES MADE IN THIS PLACE

HE WAS MY FRIEND, SO BRAVE AND TALL
MY BROTHER, MY FRIEND MY ''UNCLE PAUL''....

Seajay the sailor man.

CJ, my eyes mist at your words as I remember those that I have lost too. The pain will lessen with time but never quite recede. Memories are all that is left to cherish, rejoice in them friend.
Peace be with you and yours.

John and Val
