Beach Camping North Florida

Looking for RV parks and campsites that are on or easy walking to the beach... St. Augustine north or in the Panhandle. We are trying to stay within 7 hours drive of Atlanta. Our camping at Ft. Clinch at Fernandina Beach, Florida and Huntington Beach State Park in SC were very enjoyable and would love to have other parks to visit.

Thanks for any input.

Some suggestions to look at. Topsail and Grayton Beach State Parks are in Santa Rosa Beach, FL (Panhandle). We like the Forgotten Coast area, especially Carrabelle. Carrabelle Beach RV Resort and Ho Hum RV Park, especially. St. George Island State Park is also nearby.

Fully agree about Topsail. But be aware the beach is about 1/2 mile from the campground. A bicycle will be helpful or the park has a shuttle. No vehicles other than the shuttle is allowed on the paved trail to the beach.

Another park with a great beach is St. Joseph State Park. Easy walk from the campground to the beach.

North Beach Camp Resort in Vilano Beach, Fl is a nice campground located between the River and the Ocean. Just east of St. Augustine. Be award that Huguenot in Jax does not have hook-up, Hanna Park does.

Take a look at Grayton Beach SP. The sites range from old style water/electric framed by trees to full hookups. Just a short distance to the beach and also short drives to Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and Panama City. You can not beat the great sands of the Emerald Coast.
Also if you like to be away from all, then look at St. Joseph State park down by Port St. Joe. Great beach, good sites, long way from to shops, etc.
Regards,
JimB

Alittle further down near Flagler is Beverley Beach Camptown. Park on seawall directly over the beach. Little pricey but great views amd step right on the beach. Maybe 30 miles below Jacksonville.

camping on the gulf in Destin looks nice and you can park right on the beach... pricey of course..... I find that Myrtle beach has the best beach resorts.... might have something to do with the cost of real estate I dunno........

We stayed at HoHum RV Park in Carrabelle in January and going back in April. If you like shopping, putt putt, go carts and other tourist stuff this is probably not for you but it is quite and right on the beach. Some of the sites are spitting distance from the water...well almost. Almost no surf due to it's location (barrier island on the horizon), which I like because it is quite. Great little park and nice hosts. Great seafood within short driving distance. Nearby is the oyster capital of the world as far as I am concerned. One other point is they are pet friendly to large breed dogs. Lastly, I hear the fishing is good in April?

We were at Navarre Beach CG earlier this year; it had a couple of sites directly on the bay but the rest were back aways. We saw another new CG in Navarre that appeared to have beachfront sites, but darned if we can recall the name of the place.
