Right on , if I were to give the name of my favorite country song it would most likely be any country song recorded before country went rock.with all of the electronic instruments. Country was country when the lyrics and voice made the song now the background music seem to have taken over so that every song sounds pretty much the same.I am also wierd because I like Bluegrass music.....Alan

I don't know, I have listened to country most of my life with the exception of my teens in the early 70's go figure.
I still love some of the old Eddie Arnold, Glen Cambell, Conway, Merle, JC, Hank Jr, & Sr.

But I also like alot of the new stuff as it hits more to the Southern Rock but alot still
carries a very strong message.

Also there are some very talented people.

But have to agree how can you pick one out of over 75 years of recordings?
