Best Thing I Ever Ate - Seafood

Tell us all about the best seafood you have ever had and where we can go to get it. Has to be a restaurant or stand so we can get it too.

It used to be a well-kept local secret, but the touristas from New Yawk have discovered it, so I only do take out from here now.

Lobster Trap | Home

The prices are ridiculous so we don't eat there that often, but the lobster "factory" is right next door.

First I saw it on TV, then a buddy and I rode to Maine on our Hogs.......told him we had to find/stop by here maine fried clams,Maine fried clams, maine clam shack, maine clam restaurant, seafood restaurant, kennebunkport, lobster rolls, lobster roll kit, maine lobster roll on our way home.......WOW, BIG LINES OF PEOPLE WAITING! A must do........if near by!

The Clam Shack; Kennebunkport, ME

Overlooking the scenic Kennebunk River, at the peak of the summer season, the cooks at the Clam Shack shell roughly 1,000 pounds of local lobster a day. For their assembled-to-order rolls, they pile a little of each part (claw, knuckle, tail) onto an oversize, locally baked burger bun. Customers choose between a swipe of mayo, a drizzle of warm butter or a little of both. The Clam Shack even sells lobster roll kits, shipped fresh overnight.

All out of these 2 window's! 1K of lobster per day!

I will second that,

Almost any lobsta or clam joint in NH or ME (also many other New England spots). For a total lobsta and clam pig out time you gotta go to the Nordic Lodge for their all you can eat Lobsta in RI.

OK, we did the BBQ thing and now on to seafood. I have no REALLY good places to recommend but I will be making a list of those I want to try along the Gulf coast. Snowbird country.

Deep fried alligator at Love's Restaurant outside Savannah, GA. Served as an appetizer but would work as a meal. Actually, any of their food is great.

King Crab legs--all you can eat for $19.99.

Needless to say, the restaurant's out of business.

Used to get them at Paul's Steakhouse in Helen, GA, but they're switched to snow crab legs. I can easily make a 1' tall stack of shells.

Last summer we stayed at Sunset Campground in Harrington, ME. The owner will cook & deliver to your RV, lobstah's for $7 lb. We had the attached delivered one day, and while we were eating some, we were picking others for a salad the next day. We stayed for two months, and did this a number of times. I also like to get whole fried clams when in ME., not the clam strips that are usually offered, hard to find in our travels.

Thinking on it..the best fried shrimp I've ever had was at Lang's Marina & Restaurant in St. Mary's, GA. Happened to stumble in on the day they had all you can eat. These weren't those small ones you normally get, they were really large and cooked perfectly.

If you are in or near Lafayette, LA, Prejean's is the place.

Fried Gator Tail, fried Shrimp, boiled Crayfish all at my house. Most restaurants around here serve pretty darn good seafood.

The best clam chowder I have had is on the west coast. Stagnaro Bros on the Santa Cruz wharf. Used to go there as a kid, and it is the first place I aim for when I visit family in the area!
