To those who claim they are worried about losing their freedoms but really are simply concerned about how their package appears on xray film heres some tips... wear boxers, think sexy thoughts and take 2 viagra one hour before boarding.

Sorry I was not clear earlier. CNN had a report this week on the total lack of security regarding privately owned aircraft in the USA. The small aircraft are supposed to be registered. The FAA only knows where about half of the aircraft are or who owns them. Many people do not register their aircraft nor upon resale are they registered.
Which supports my position that the "grand caretaker of all of us" can take care of nothing.

Maybe they should do the pat downs at the front door of airport.

You can make light of the loss of our freedom if you wish. Your right (at least for the moment) under the 1st Amendment allows you to do that.
Please consider this Paper Declares TSA Scanners Don't Work
The point isn't that my package is displayed but that the technology can easily be subverted. While TSA claims "layers of security", they are placing a lot of faith in that technology and ignoring the real warning signs that other countries focus on. In our effort to remain PC and hide behind the technology and pat downs, the next real threat will go un-detected.
So where will you draw the line? Cavity searches?
I'm sure that you will disagree, but there are similar assaults on our other freedoms. I'm a big 2nd amendment advocate, too. You would be surprised at the pile of rules that exist where the Bill of Rights says "shall not be infringed." The term "sheeple" has been coined to represent what we are if we simply allow ourselves to be herded along.
The amazing part is the argument that if I don't go along with the government's lastest stupid solution, I must be in favor of the terrorists. Since when is this an either or question? It is in the same vein as "have you stopped beating your wife?" Let's have a valid discussion about the alternatives before we assume that the bureaucrats have got a lock on the truth. Last time I looked, nothing that the bureaucrats do could be further from that.

I would never make light of someone losing their job or a puppy but someone worried about losing the right to hide something in there pants is funny. The jokes that have spawn from this story are hilarious. Don't you watch late night talk shows or Saturday night live? Funny stuff.

I think that was a non story... There are thousands of rental trucks out there and the government has no idea where they are either. Are we suppose to be concerned about those also ? I'm getting tired of sensationalized stories on so called "news" outlets be it print or broadcast. Maybe we should all have a GPS
implanted so the government can keep track of everything we do and where we go... Our government has dropped the ball and the pat down/scanners are all for show. I just heard a report (ABC) that the TSA misses 70% of all weapon passing through airport security.... Obviously it ain't workin'.

A joke that was told by Jay Leno & I'm paraphrasing here.
"In regard to the threats by Al Quada to step up terrorist attacks during the Christmas season, the Dept. of Homeland Security has immediately sprung into action by naming them "Holiday threats" rather than "Christmas threats".
You gotta luv it ! jodann

The point is that these small aircraft are flying into the same airport where you are lined up to be searched.
Irony. Only the ignorant continue to do things the same way over and over and expect a different result. i.e. TSA

And the rental trucks out number general aircraft by a big margin and go "undetected" all over the country..... I agree the way the TSA is off track and going in the wrong direction. When they are allowed to profile instead of centering on old ladies and children maybe they will get some credibility but until then the TSA (in my opinion) is a joke.

I fly occasionally at least once a month. I have no problem with the scanner or pat down. I'd much rather have that than be blow up at 37,000 feet! I do not understand the loss of freedom argument. I'm just guessing those who are making that argument were in favor of the Patriot Act. That was a loss of Freedom!
In any case obviously fortunately this was a non-issue for the vast majority of people in the world.
