Boy am i smart

Hello all.
DW and i went to NH ( in our van, shucks.)to stay with DS and BIL for Christmas. Dad was there (he is 88 years young.)our niice and great neice and lots of old friends. We had planed on leaving this morning early, boy am i glad we kept an eye on the weather. We ended up leaving yesterday late yesterday morning and managed to stay mostly ahead of the bad stuff, just a few lake efect snow and a few slick spots. Got back home(Western NY) about 7:00 pm last night.
That's why i'm so smart, keepin eye on weather.
DS emailed me this morning, said they had 11in so far.Still not as much as we have.

Good for you. I'm always surprised when someone says they didn't know it was going to snow, be sub-freezing or 100 degrees for that matter. They should get to know the weather channel. DUH

I keep a spare coat, blanket and pillow in my trunk and add watter to that list in the summer, along with (of course) a good first aid kit. It amazes me when someone is spun out in the ditch wearing shorts with no coat !!

We have desktop weather on both our computers ,watch local and national all the time. I can't haul in bad weather so we depend on reports everwhere. In Vt we can't even haul in the rain.

It only took 15 years to get my wife to watch the weather, still will not watch news. When she does learn of something that happened, she blames me for not telling her.

We had a simlar experiece except it wasn't because I was smart. We were having new roof put on before Christmas but they didn't get it finished. They were coming back on Mon. DW put them off until Wed. We had plans to go to Yakima & Tri Cities(E WA) on the 26 and return on Wed. The roofers shortened our trip. We came home on Tues with wet & dry roads. Wed, Snoqualime Pass was not a good place to be.
