You could put something like this on your RV:
Defender 8-Channel 500GB HDD Surveillance System with (4) 600 TVL Cameras and 100 ft. of Night Vision-21024 at The Home Depot

Thom and Christine having fun in a 1993 Monaco Crown Royale Signature Series 40ft 300hp RV. Towing a Fiat 500 Abarth and a Harley.

We installed cameras several years ago that are connected to a security service as well as they take pictures of anyone that approaches the front or back. Sends a notice to my cell phone as well with pictures. Cameras cost less than $400 for two that also have great night vision. Neithbors collect mail and also water plants and keep an eye on the place.
Beyond that we carry insurance like everyone else. When the motor home is in the back we put a FOR SALE sign on the back, just maybe someone will just think we sold it and are still around when it is not here.

We tell our neighbor we will be gone. Turn on lights, stop the mail. Then hit the road. We used to stop the paper but half the time they would still deliver and leave a pile of papers to advertise that we were not there. Cancelled paper and went electronic.

Great ideas on this thread, however.....

If you have really valuable jewelry, family antiquities, etc, they should be stored off-site in secure facilities when you leave town. The rest is just stuff.

Cameras and DVR (et al) may allow to police to possibly persue the perps. The perps, if ever caught, have already pawned/sold the goodies, usually plead out, and you are stuck dealing with the insurance company. In any case, it is an insurance thing and putting really valuable things in secure places.

Dont give them a chance to get the good stuff!
