This isn't the end of it. There's been rumors for years of his fabrications in regards to his Katrina reporting also. [moderator edit] Why do they feel the need to lie? It seems the truth always eventually comes to the light of day.

I've always sensed a snarky condescending air in Brian Williams. I find him to be arrogant. He could be Tom Brady's older brother lol.

Well, they are going to have to do something like that I mean once his lies are exposed they have not choice.

problem is that he likely knows of a number of his co-workers who have done much the same thing so they may have to make him happy in the process.

I have a network I like to pick on (NOT NBC) because when it comes to fact checking (What's that) and accuracy (Who cares, the news is what we say it is) they have the worst track record.

But saidly.. It is a seriously contested race for that title (Worst), not nearly as much competition at the other end (BBC, NPR, and that's about it, oh and The Onion, they are nor more accurate, they just make no bones about it, (Satirical publication, they are all about the laugh/groan) so though the stories are often made up... They are NOT lies,, Just humor.

This is what happens when your head swells and you think yourself to be bigger than you really are. One continues in small steps to embellish the story bit by bit, actually coming to believe the story to be true in ones own mind.

Probably what he was telling the staff around the office. What staffer would argue or challenge him?

Just forgot to change stories when the location and audience changed.

X2, everyone wishes they had a combat story, except those that have in real life experienced being on a two way rifle range.

I know dozens of combat veterans and Brian Williams is no combat veteran. He didn't have the guts to walk a mile in a combat soldiers boots. I think they call it a yellow streak down the back!

I flew a Chinook in VN...we didn't have any Brian Williams type pax. I don't understand how or why the crews have kept quiet all these years. Surely they talked about it among themselves.

He can always run for political office since he has some of the same qualities now that they have had for years.

Have to agree with last post. He knows how to spin the stories in his favor and make himself look good. I mean just look at him How could you not believe him .

I would think anyone, having taken even small arms fire, would never "misremember" the details.
