Apparently there were no confusing "holes"-- his pilot stated that his flight landed to wait out a sandstorm that had reduced visibility, not due to enemy action....

No longer a politically correct question to ask here in Canada. We have an arrogant sportscaster up here that goes by the same name and during the Vancouver Olympics we Canadians got treated to the two Brians telling how wonderful each were to the world.

There is a good editorial in today's OPED section of the NYTIMES concerning Brian. As can be expected the print media is having a field day over this especially since Williams has been "wrapping himself in others glory" for a long time.

What a bunch of hateful remarks, are you kidding me. What ever happened to tolerance and civility? Yes, it certainly sounds like he embellished his story but the criticism seems out of proportion when the object was to give thanks to those that protected him and his crew.
He needs to apologize, and he did. He needs to step away for a bit, and he has. Get over it. If you don't like him, don't watch that news cast but this national trend towards hateful speech against anyone who does not think exactly like you is doing nothing but dragging our county down?

I am disappointed in the lack of honesty, ethics and moral compass in today's society. It is fraught with the concentration on celebrities, without any room or notoriety for real heroes. I miss the candor and honesty of Walter Cronkite.

Selah, taken from your signature..."When the time comes to look back, make sure you'll like what you see". I wonder if he is liking what he see's? He has lost his creditability and damaged that of NBC and as an extension those associated with NBC. JMHO and my comments have nothing to do with apposing views.

Mr. Williams is human and has made human mistakes. Stolen valor is far far too common and must not be accepted in any setting, especially with someone who is such a public figure. I believe that reporters at any level must be held to a higher standard as well as other very public officials. He will have to earn my trust before I put these mistakes in my rear view mirror. This was not a mere over site on his part, and he has committed an injustice to the works of a great number of journalists who risk it all to report the facts from conflict areas. Shame on him!

Personally...I hate to be lied to. This is not an accident, but willful deception. The acceptance of misrepresentation is whats dragging down our country.

I don't care what he thinks, he can think differently than me.

Seems to be the norm in today's TV programing. It's scripted "Reality TV". Turns out to be another "Survivor" or Big Brother that is going to lose a bit of the audience. The sad part of it is ,I really liked the guy!
