Buick- Gas smell when start driving ?

Any idea whats wrong when I start car and drive to stop sign and get a gas smell inside of car ? Car runs well otherwise and about 10 years old. Doesn't seem to do it all the time.

Seems I get it more when gas tank is low. Any ideas what could be wrong ? Thx for any help.

Sounds like time to have the whole fuel and evaporative emissions system inspected for leaks. At 10 years old there could easily be a cracked hose, somewhere in the system.

Skip is right have the system checked. This year I had a gas leak near the tank, it was a easy fix but locating it was not fun. Could smell gas from time to time but nothing on the ground. Turned out to be a rusted fitting in the lines. Have it checked as Skip mentioned. Good luck.

Just a note, gas lines are under pressure once the car is shut off if there is a leak you should smell gas, atleast until the pressure is gone from the lines. On startup the pressure will build up and the leak continues as well as the smell. Something to check. Good luck.
