Tomorrow we were leaving our Seattle location for our second adventure this year with our good friends and neighbors of over 35 years. They also have a 2005 Newmar Mountaire much like ours and we were traveling together to Arizona. They have a lot at Palm Creek in Casa Grande . We waited a few days until Frank (63) got the results from his prostate biopsy. Today we found out he has prostrate cancer and gets a full body scan on friday to see if it has gone to other areas (bones). They have of course cancelled and we feel horrible for him and Angie as she was so excited to leave.

We will probably sit tight for a few days but they will be in our prayers. I don't think they are IRV members but I know Angie reads some of the posts from time to time.

Every man over 50 should get a PSA test annually. It is not so much the actual number, but rather the amount of change in the number that reveals a potential problem.

Sorry to hear about your friends situation and not being able to travel with you right now, we know the feeling as several members in our own chapters are also not well at the present and we pray that all will be healthy again. Ed.S

Thanks Ed. I guess it's time in life to expect this from here out. He seems in good spirits this AM and trying to keep busy. I will feel bad to leave but I know they don't want us to stay.BTW his rig looks exactly like yours and tows a 2007 Jeep Commander Limited. He has the 2005 3778 I think with the outside isle to the bedroom.

Kay,

My Dad went through that and did eventually die but that was almost 30 years later at age 97 and not from cancer. He was on his feet laughing and joking at the time enjoying life to the last breath. He still had a valid drivers license in his wallet and a clean slate on his record.

Kay...
My thoughts and prayers are with your neighbors. I hope all works out well. I do know it is NOT a death sentence...Wish them good luck from many of the iRV2 family!

Diagnosed in 1998. Radiation (selective) treatments (25) and had radioactive seed implants shortly thereafter. Last checkup in January and Dr. proclaimed me "cancer free"!! Hooray. Keep faith and cheer. It CAN be beat. Let us know.

I did hours+ of research on Internet at the time. Seed therapy was rather new then and 10 year efficacy [sp?] was not in.

The Gleason score can be critical but not totally indicative.

BTW, an RVer buddy of ours was diagnosed 2+ years ago. He opted for surgical removal as the cancer had progressed too far for seed. He had his "Cancer Free" diagnosis earlier this summer.

You can beat the Big "C". I am convinced attitude and belief/faith in God is KEY. YMMV
