Busted Ribs!

I have fallen out of trees, fallen off the ladder of my RV and never so much have ever broken a bone.....

That is until recently, playing tennis.... Ran up to the shot which was going to be a short hopper over the net and so I dove for the shot and went flying through the air and did a belly landing with the left arm under my rib cage. Broke three ribs. 8, 9, 10.

On top of that I missed the shot!! But I saved my $300 racquet.

There are days I think I am getting old....

I wish you a rapid recovery. Broken or cracked ribs will make anybody feel old. Hopefully you do not have a cold or a cough to go with it. Got my 1st ones when a brood mare planted both hind feet in my ribs. Last one, a couple years ago, I took a tumble with a snowmobile on top of me. I had to pull start that snowmobile to get back to base, and that was a scream.

Broken ribs are not funny. No going to comedy shows, watching sit coms or anything that makes you laugh.

Or take deep breaths. A year ago April. A single fracture. OMG... can't imagine 3.

I like the way you tell the story...The problem with broken ribs is when you laugh....THEY HURT.

Trying to spread the pain (laughter) are you...

Get well soon....Good job on the racquet.

Ouch. Wishes for a speedy recovery. Oh, & no sneezing either, so stay away from pepper & snuff.

Ouch is right. Stay away form the humor section. It's hurts to laugh ( ask me how I know ). Get better soon.

Hmmm - tennis as a contact sport! Who'd a thunk it? Next we will hear about tennis elbow due to fly fishing. LOL

Our bodies have a way of protecting ourselves from danger! Tennis, Danger! Running, Danger, walking, you got it, Danger! I play it safe, I sit in a chair!

I broke 2 ribs a when I was about 25. It happened racing karts. I was holding 2nd place in the points with 2 races left. Stupidly, I raced the next 2 races taped up. My buddies had to help me in and out of the seat, but the pain went away when we fired the motor. It was a really dumb thing to do, even if we did win the championship.
I wish I had some good advice (other than stay out of the racecar). Move slowly and deliberately. Try not to make sudden movements, or deep breaths, or laugh, or sneeze, or twist, or bend...

It is just gonna hurt like heck for a few months. Good luck!!
