Geocaching

We saw a program about this on NPR. Thought it would be fun. We live in San Diego near Balboa Park. There must be 15 places within 5 blocks of our house. We could not find one. Got my brother and sister (with family) to come help. None of us could find anything. There went our Geocaching.

Geocaching might have "jumped the shark" so to speak. While there are many caches posted, many are no longer being maintained as they were a few years ago when it was really "hot".

It's never been easier, there's a Geocaching app for iPhones, and Open Caching websites for free. Almost any new handheld GPS has a caching feature.

Camping in Quartzsite for 2 nights and then in Needles for 3 nights netted us 609 caches this past week.

Wow! Is there a 12 step program for that? Just kidding, but wow that's a lot. Great exercise.

Must have been a "power trail" nearby to get that many so quickly! Congrats!
