So I am to believe you have no investments except a bank savings account paying 0.2%? Wow.

The RV life style is neither a right nor an entitlement. Like all non-essential pleasures it comes with a cost and we must decide how to allocate our limited resources. If Rv'ing does not provide value to you in excess of its costs, then you should not participate. The consumer ultimately pays for all profits whether percieved as legitimate or obscene based on the viewer's perspective. All profits are ultimately returned to the consumer in the form of dividends, jobs, increased production, new and innovative products, etc.

NO Stock in OIL company. Do you want to know how many rental homes I own? The renters pay their own fuel bills so I'm not contributing there directly...You might want to know that my own home is an EARTH SHELTERED SOLAR HOME. That's since 1980, my own design. Paid for by the United States government grant through the Department of Energy. Had to PROVE my worth and submitted to a very rigorous review process. I was GREEN before the word was even used. Brookhaven National Lab conducted tours of my normal to me but radical to them home till I got fed up with the ooh's and aah's about my energy killing Sub Zero refrigerator (my rare violation). Wanted a refrigerator on top like June Cleaver on Leave it to Beaver. I'm very philosophical about how America abuses fuel. I don't even hang Christmas lights since 1974. Decorations yes but no lights. But that's another story...

Now I suck down as much gasoline as needed. I conserved for so long I finally gave up attempting to influence change by example. Deep down inside most don't care unless it hits their pocket. Once in a while I'll speak up on this site about saving fuel but I don't think I'm much of an influence.

I'll say anyone with a 401K, mutual funds, etc owns some stock in oil, I know I do; but I don't control what stocks my mutual funds buy. Market speculation is one result of our Capitalistic Nation, no better alternative has been proven.. Gas prices are expected to stay at/near present levels until this fall, according to MoneyWatch.
