Baraff - good deal. Thanks for the tip. And good for you in not letting the casino shake you down! How was your shakedown? Coach all good to go I hope. We love us some prime rib!

We Casinodock whenever we can. We always sign up for the Players card and gamble with what they give us, then leave. One time a city in CA passed a law banning overnight parking in Walmart. So we drove 30 min. to get to a casino. We stayed 2 nights at the casino, when we signed up for the players card, I won a $30 salmon dinner (it was great) DW won $25 to play with. So the casino payed us $55 to stay for 2 nights. When we went sightseeing, we completely avoided spending any money in that CA town (They ran their own campground).

The coach was fine except the turn signals decided to pack it in. Replaced the flasher and all is well. Everything else worked great. Thanks for asking.
Hollywood Casino in Joliet offers their Prime Rib Buffet on Saturday nights. I think the cost was $23, but we got it for $6 each because the nice couple behind us in line had an $80 credit that expired that day, and they graciously applied it to our meal. There are still decent folk in the world, despite what we hear about these days.
The summer rates went into effect Monday 4/15: $35 back in, $45 pull through, water and electric only, slightly pricy. It's a better deal to come in the off season for $12. They do have a decent dump station behind the hotel.

Yes, casinos and lotteries are for gamblers. Fortunately all games in a casino are not always in the house favor. As a math teacher you know that.
A friend, from your area of Ohio, wrote this book...

Bootlegger's 200 Proof Blackjack: A Survival Guide for Playing the Tables: Mike Turner: 9780757000485: Amazon.com: Books

I have no financial interest in the book and the author is deceased.

They opened a casino in downtown Cincinnati the first week in March. In their first month they made 21 MILLION dollars. Profit, not intake. I believe the odds must be tilted in their favor to make $21 million in thirty days. I can do the math.

How come every time I play a slot , it keeps taking my money. It says winner on the machine. I must be figuring wrong. Put in 10c and win 3 cents? Is that profit for me?
I just don't understand .

How do you think they built Vegas? It wasn't from all the "winners" that go there!

Agreed. Luck be a lady.....
We like slots. Don't like paying the extra bump for table games at some Tribal Casinos. The house advantage should be enough without an additional ante just to play. I prefer $ slots - Annie likes quarters. But luck is luck. Some days chicken, somedays feathers.

The key is know when and to actually walk away. We like to cash out with small wins like this and go shopping for something we want or need. Gets ya out of the casino - buy something for yourself - and go back later. Rinse and repeat.
