Years ago I decided to drive about 3 hours to the nearest casino (the closest now is 25 minutes). I decided to play the slots and got beat up pretty bad (-$300). On my way out I decided to put my final bet in a $5 machine. I put $10 dollars in, pulled the lever, and wala I won 10 credits. I pulled the lever (yes pulled the lever) and won 800 credits. I was excited since the machine told me to wait for an attendant. Being young and stupid, when the attendant came I told her in my excited voice "I just won $800". Her response was "You didn't win $800, you won 800 x $5". Let me tell you, I almost fainted. The payout was counted cash in hand.
I put $100 into another $5 machine and won $1,200 dollars on one pull.
Needless to say, I have not matched that day in the last 20 years.

I'm not a big gambler but, there is a casino on a Indian Reservation about 35 miles north of me. It's called Jackpot Junction. There address is Morton,MN but, they are also near Redwood Falls,MN . They have a nice RV park and you get access to the indoor pool and hot tub area when you stay at the RV park. They have concert's there sometimes and I have gone to some of those. Redwood Falls is the location of the largest city park in MN called Ramsey Falls it covers over 200 acres. So, I go there more for the entertainment value then I do the gambling. But, I will gamble about 30 bucks away in the Casino too. I make it there once or twice a year.

We've stayed at Lady Luck Casino in Caruthersville, MO a few times. I am not a big gambler (work too hard for my money to throw it away), but set a limit of $50 or so and call it a night's "entertainment". Lady Luck was a real nice RV park for $20 or so a night with security. It's right on the Mississippi so subject to flooding from time to time. Decent restaurant too. Only problem was the RV park is lit up ALL NIGHT LONG, the birds were singing at 2am. Bring something to cover your windows because regular shades won't cut it.

I mail the Flamingo a $100 check every year. They send me a postcard of the place.

Hope this is of interest: Check to see if a Casino you visit (or plan to visit) is listed. Most of the offers are for paying $25 for a $40 to $50 Slot Play voucher. Jim and I both have purchased & used the voucher. I wish we could buy it more than once every 30 days! https://slotplaycoupons.com/friends.php?refkey=HqT3NQPV Enjoy.

We live in Reno. Been here since 2002 and I've never been to Vegas. Wife has gone several times with family and for bachelorette party. Wife quit gambling all together. I'll play craps and a little roulette when we go on a cruise. Other than that we only go to the casino's for the other fun stuff, like the restaurants, catch a rising star comedy club, kareoke and a good show that might be in town.

Winstar Casino, just over the border into OK. On I35 north of DFW. It is the second larget casino in the world. Has a 46 table Poker room. RV park $20 w/club card. Shuttle every 15 minutes or so.

Pretty wife & I do a lot of casino hopping. We like Az. NM. Co. Ms. Mi. & Ok. I like blackjack and slots, she likes slots. Have a base in "high tax" Ok. and didn't originally like this states casinos. Then she discovered VGT slots. Now I have a difficult time getting her out of the state. Central City/Blackhawk, Co. is nice when Ok. is on one of it's 100+ deg. stretches. We use players cards & win/loss reports, but still pay taxes on W2G s. Wife's too lucky, except at tax time...Peter

Play occasionally, as entertainment. Favorite casino is in Ely, Nevada. RV park on the grounds, daily free drink voucher, good resturant, nice bar. Mostly played $5-$10 per day at the built in poker machines at the bar. Ran $5 up to $250, then promptly played it down to a cash out of $138. Darnit. Think that's the most I've ever left a casino with.
Had a gurl friend for a while who loved to play the poker machines in Oregon. Was always telling me that she was winning. I talked her into keeping a diary of her play, even bought her the spiral notepad to keep track. Sure enough, a couple months later, she was up a couple hundred. A couple years later, up a couple thousand. Show off.

We crossed over the border to Washinton State today and went down to the Skagit Casino. Wife and I both were up $20 each and my brother left $10 behind. We wen't to the buffet lunch and I ate about $30 worth for $6.75. Got some cheap gas at the gas station and came home. It was a great day. If I ever won a $100 I would have to change my shorts. I guess I am not big time.

Did our seasonal shakedown overnight trip and stayed at Hollywood Casino in Joliet, IL. The RV park was still on winter rates, $12/night, but the water was on. We had a terrific dinner at the buffet, best prime rib I've ever had, you could cut it with a butter knife, and I'm not kidding. Went into the casino, dropped $2 into a slot machine and won $25 on the second push of the button. Not being a gambler, I cashed it in.
We'll be back, only about 30 minutes from our house, for the prime rib!
