Cell phone numbers go public

REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.
REMINDER..... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

Please forward to family and friends

FYI

Analysis: This rumor has been circulating continuously since September 2004. Despite a small grain of truth at its core, it's mostly false, misleading, and outdated. Here's what you need to know:
  1. Yes, you can add your cell phone number(s) to the National Do Not Call Registry.
  2. No, you won't suddenly be at the mercy of 10,000 telemarketers if you don't.
Contrary to what's claimed in these emails, cell phone numbers aren't about to "go public."

This rumor is so old its almost ancient. Sure, use the do not call system, but don't panic. I was informed it would be in effect last year, and so far, I haven't got any calls from telemarketers from last year. The do not call listings only work in the U.S.A. So the telemarketers got smart and take their business overseas and on the seas. Now you get telemarketers calling you on land lines with deep accents and those who speak little English at all. They don't have to abide by U.S do not call rules.
