Changing out refrigerator interior light

I have already changed all our 12 volt lighting to led bulbs and was wondering if anyone has replaced their refrigerator lights over to led with out any problems? The dometic site states that the bulbs shipped in their products is there for a reason! I don't understand the logic. Please give some reasons....

They're not special bulbs. Find a 12v one that'll fit. However, IMO, for no more than the door is open, it's really a waste of money.

With a 40 watt bulb, If you open the fridge door for 30 seconds, 10 times an hour and do that 24 hours a day, you will use about 8 AH of battery capacity.

Really not worth it.

I bought a LED bulb for $3.50. My rational was to cut down the heat generated from the incandescent bulb while the door is open. Kind of a double wammy with the door open and heat from the bulb. Hopefully this will help my frig. cool easier.

Replaced bulb in out Dometic Fridge with a LED. It's brighter and does not put off much heat. Used a standard festoon 6 LED replacement. Less than $.99 on eBay.

I may not be getting this but how much heat does a 40w bulb give off in 20sec? . Is it really that crucial or are we just wanting to tinker with another thing?
