If you've never lived thru a resurrection of cicadas consider yourself lucky. The devour leaves and vegetation and if you happen to drive thru a swam you are faced with a nasty clean up.

We are nearing the end of a 13 Yr. cycle. Been going on for 3 weeks. Can't hardly talk to each other in the afternoons.

These however don't eat anything, but the ground around my oaks are covered with dead ones and the back of my shop is covered with empty shells where they molted. Usually last about 4 weeks.

Yep, I know what you mean. I've had it so long I just tune it out and my sweetie says I'm really good at it.
