Ref photo #28. I have stood behind the sunken wall at Marye's Heights looking down toward the river where the Federal troops landed to fight their way toward the heights during both battles of Fredericksburg. When I think back on that I can understand what Darryl Worley was speaking of in his song "Shiloh".

We have spent the last 5 years touring Civil War sights from Charleston, to Appomatox and many many places in between. Amazing time period for sure.

Craig ... Really really really great pics thanks so much ... So much history .. Some of the people he(brady)took pictures of he only added their names ... Shame kind of speaking seeing them but not knowing what they did or where they came from ...like a sealed history never to be known . Thanks for your time
