I got mine from cooling unit wearhouse. They will ship to your house for more shipping fees but the service was great. They have a very good website with instruction help for install. I installed mine in about 6 hrs and has run great ever sence

LDDP
There have been other recalls, but the primary Norcold models that are causing all the problems are the 12 cu ft 4-door models - Model numbers 12XX.

Had you looked at them, you would have found they are the same!
They are the ONLY source for the Amish units. There are no other dealers........

Contact David Force at the following link. He is the goto person for the Amish made cooling unit replacements. We will be purchasing the replacement items for our Dometic NDR1062 in the next 1-2 months.

I contacted them, they emailed and called me. Not really expecting much out of it since we replaced ours with a residential and it is sitting in my garage but it may add to the numbers of folks not satisfied with the performance and safety of the Norcold fridges.

Isn't that the same law suit, or are there more than one?

Dr4Film - I'm sorry, I didn't know that was the case. Do you know where I could find this documentation? I would like to show it to my extended warranty folks. TIA.
I found the post where a RV owner had lost his 2006 Fleetwood Tradition due to a Norcold 1200 fire on December 16, 2012. He had all recalls performed on the fridge.

I did a copy/paste of the post below. It was posted by a member of the Monacoers Yahoo discussion forum where I am also a member.

"Have a friend who just lost his 2006 Fleetwood Tradition coach last Saturday due to a Norcold 1200 catching on fire. The recalls had been installed. These are not safe units.
Bob U 2000 Dip with residential refrigerator"

Also, below are two links to some information regarding absorption fridge fire investigations. Even though these articles only mention Dometic, which has had their own problems, the Norcold units are basically the same.

With information, each RV owner can come to their own conclusion as to which refrigeration method would be better for them to have in their RV.

Also, as adults, each of us has to make their own decisions, I did, and my only regret was not doing it earlier.

I have a Samsung RF197 ACPB residential refrigerator. I will NEVER own another RV without one.

Well had an extended conversation today with the party of this terrible tragedy only to find out that their refer was not on the recall list. They associate from Norcold after doing some extensive checking came back on the phone and told them that they should feel perfectly safe as they should have NO problems at all.

HMMM!
Then he told her what actually happened.

Thats interesting Steve we have been posting since 2007 with all the problems that Norcold has had with their refrigerators.
All Norcolds since 1987 to present are on RECALL. Both 2 door and the 4 door 1200 series.

This last May we were camping at Maryhill SP in Wa and there were folks from about 8-10 rigs at our campfire one nite and the subject came up and one of the couples said they were driving a newer rig as their old one had burned up the last fall. The fire started at 2:00 AM and they went out the window and he was just able to get around to the front door in time to get the door open and the dogs out. She said that the coach was to the ground in less than 10 minutes. There was another couple there that said that the same thing had happened to them two years ago. Both couples had had all the recalls done and both of them had suits against Norcold and one of them was waiting on a settlement.
Neither of the couples had met before and were from different parts of the country.
