Coach Net Keeping Secrets??

When we purchased the new Bus, the dealer gave us a complementary Coach Net membership for a year, which we appreciated, but didn't use. Since it is about to expire, I was interested in renewing it, and when I received the usual barrage of notices for the renewal, I read them carefully. Unfortunately, none of these were more than Coach Net "How Great I AM" advertising. A statement bured in their documentation says that if there is a discrepancy in the advertising documentation versus their Member Benefit Guide, the benefit guide governs. OK, that's only fair. That's the contract between them and me. So I called and asked for a copy of their Membership Guide to review, AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T SEND IT TO ME UNTIL I BOUGHT THE SERVICE.

HUH!!!! Sounds sort'a like "You gott'a pass it before we tell you what's in it" to me and I don't work that way. Didn't believe it then, and don't believe it now.

Customer GONE>

When are these fools going to learn? According to some, P. T. Barnam said there was a sucker born every minute, but I try not to be that one.

I thought you had a legal right to read the "contract" before you signed or in this case paid the fee?

Wasn't posting here enough? I see the same post over on the other big RV site.

Legal or not, if they want my money, I want to see exactly what I am getting. No review, no money.

THey'll only give me the guide to the dealer furnished contract. My year on that expires Jan 15th, and that contract is different from the other's they offer. And, of course, since I'm not a dealer I can't renew that one.

The reason I posted this on NUMEROUS forums is that many folks only follow one forum. If you've already read it once, that's what that delete key on your keyboard is for.

Here's a breakdown of the three plans they offer.
http://www.coach-net.com/Plans/ComparePlans.aspx
All you have to do is pick one. I'm not sure what the guide will tell you that's not in this link.

Clifftall, read the fine print at the bottom. This is not your contract. The contract is the contract and I don't make a contract before I read it. Not an advertising summary written by some PR hack, the REAL contract.

I guess it's not for you then. I can tell you it's the road service Co of choice by our members whenever a thread is started on who is the best. My personal view is that it's just a road service Co and not an extended warranty co. I've had them for years but fortunately haven't had to use them. Good luck .

I have the GS Roadside Assistance plan. It does not come with what I would call a "Contract" in the sense that the Extended Service Plan does. The roadside is more like AAA - more a marketing bundle of services listed for the fee. With GS as with Coach Net it seems there are levels - Silver - Platinum whatever - and the services and fees adjust accordingly.

Come on Coach Net People - is their really a "Contract" that accompanies Roadside Service or is it just a bundle of services for fees and ya take their word for it??

At a $100 bucks +/- $35 a year - there seems to be no doubt that 1 tow - or a couple jumps or tire service, etc and you're in the money. What's the big whoop over a 100 bucks. I've said it before - cheapest bang for your buck out there.

But go ahead - do without it until you get a contract you seek. It's your right to sit on the side of the road and pay a wrecker full price to tow ya to repair / safety!

I don't think the OP was looking to debate. He was posting his observation and I appreciate it. Lets not get like that other forum.

Like the OP, I don't like writing a check when I do not know what is, or is not covered until after the fact. I would want to see one no matter who I was paying for the service. I want to make sure the service meets my expectation and not be disappointed later.

As I said - there is no contract per se with GS - and I do not believe there is with Coach Net either. The services listed in what Cliff posted are pretty clear. Same with with GS roadside Service Plans.

The only thing being debated is whether a contract even exists - and I say no - not in the sense of a bunch of legal ease. Services Offered ---> Price Paid = Contract.

Asking for Coach Net users to post if they have an actual contract seemed a reasonable thing to ask. I'm betting they have a little packet of listed services - an ID Card - phone # and with Good Sam an iPhone App for that.

I take it you don't know if Coach Net has a contract either for Roadside. I meant no disrespect or harm intended - but both GS and Coach Net have great track records on Roadside Service.
