I bet even Coker would agree with you.... It might be a toss-up between him and the guy that sends Henry into the middle 3 out of 4 times when the defense stuffs him regularly.

RTR. But definitely agree on Henry. Why that idiot Kiffin sends Henry up the middle so often escapes me. When he finally bounces outside he makes yardage. At least make it a 50/50 mix!!

?? I count Tide playing 3 top 20 teams, none in the top 10. Are you counting Bama playing itself at #2? From final CFP rankings of Alabama foes:
12. Mississippi (loss)
19. Florida
20. LSU
Congrats to the final four. All are deserving. I think Oklahoma benefited from facing TCU and Baylor with backup qb's. And I don't think the committee wanted to replace a Big XII team with Ohio State again on the final rankings like they did last year. But the Sooners are playing great and may copy OSU's feat from last year by winning the whole thing from the #4 seeding. OSU has to be disappointed with all the talent they returned from last year's champ team, still finished 11-1, but never really jelled.
I think Michigan St. is in trouble with their offense if they can't get their qb healthy. Alabama's defense won't let them run like they did on the winning drive against Iowa.
My Huskers continue their record-setting season by making a bowl with a 5-7 record . Foster Farms Bowl (at the Field of Jeans) here we come, playing 8-4 UCLA. Maybe I'll make a road trip out of it. Hows the moho parking at Levi's Stadium?

Alabama Crimson Tide College Football Clubhouse - ESPN
You've played a ranked team if that team was ranked at the time you played them. IOW, the #2 team that Bama played was LSU (Bama was 4). Recently, #18 Florida was played.
here is Clemson's schedule:
Clemson Tigers College Football Clubhouse - ESPN
It's fairly obvious that 25 teams that Clemson and Bama played would have dropped after the game, which is why rankings are based on game-day.

Polls, polls, polls, LOL pick one and you can make anything you want outta who played what and which week. ESPN is a master of the poll manipulation game. All the 4 teams are pretty deserving and all are conference champs, so it is pretty good this year. I would have preferred OU to be in the cotton bowl against Mich St, but SOONER nation travels very well as does TIDE nation so I think it will be fine. We have been to the orange bowl so many times anyways so it is familiar territory. I still think it will be OU vs BAMA for the NC, but both teams have tuff test to get there. Just hate that it is a 5 week wait for all the teams. Nobody knows if the team that ended the season with be the same team that shows up in the playoff game.
Okla St vs Ole Miss in the sugar will be a good one.

aah, and in those five weeks, here are my Christmas wishes:
* that Coker will grow a set, and
* that Kiffin will review some game films and listen to his assistants (and us)
* that Kirby Smart will not renege on his plan to stay with Bama to the end of the season
P.S. congrats to UGA on a great score with Smart. He's the best.

Interesting that there are so many ways that people ID a team's ranking.
The rankings that team X and team Y hold on the day of their particular game establishes the historical fact of what each team was ranked ...on that day, before the game.
Pre-season and post-season rankings are not relevant to whether a team played ranked opponents or not. It's game-day rankings that the media like ESPN, et al, uses.

That's not true either tho bamaboy, for instance, PAT FORDE did an article and in the same breath used the NOW rankings to compare OU's schedule while using the THEN rankings for ALabama. I know this because he had baylor at 14 and as OU's strength wins and when they played Baylor they were number 5, but showed LSU as number 2 when the Tide played them which LSU hasn't been in the TOP ten for the last 5 weeks. so, again Polls are how who ever wants to use them. I think the 4 teams that are in are very deserving and don't really feel anyone got left out this year. Ohio State didn't even play for their conference championship even tho they are 11-1 they didn't deserve it. I don't like the idea of any conference having two team in the playoffs, i think the conference champion should be the only one to be considered.

Listen 'Bama fans, I'm not saying Alabama isn't a great team, or the SEC isn't a great conference. They are. But to claim earlier season top 10 wins over LSU, aTm and Georgia when they were over-hyped as top 10 quality teams is incorrect. They all have 3 or 4 losses and will not FINISH as top 10 teams. That's just a symptom of the SEC getting too much credit for past performances and getting alot of highly ranked teams in the early season polls.
