Regarding a wife's concern about motorcycles, I went down twice within 4 months in 2007. The last time I was doing 50 mph when a pickup truck pulled out and broadsided me. Me and the bike slide 130 feet on the pavement. Fortunately, I had just promised my wife I would wear a helmet. (Texas is optional) The entire 130 feet my helmet was scraping on the ground with my head in it and I COULD NOT lift my head up, or my arm pusing against the ground. I stayed with the bike to the end, and ended up with my foot under the running board of an 850 pound motorcycle. A passerby had to lift the bike up a little so I could pull my foot out. The fifth metatarsal was broken, and a whole bunch of road rash - bunch. (Pictures if you want them)

There are two types of motorcycle riders. Those who have gone down, and those who will go down. Your wife may be on to something. In cany case.

Good luck and keep the shiny side up.

Hi scgator,

Best of luck and if nothing else have a good time!! I have thought about going back and finishing my Associates, but then figured since I am already retired and enjoying life why spend money, I need for more fun! A funny thing is when I was still working I was a guest lecture at a couple of different Colleges!
