This used to "drive me up the wall", but I have since learned to accept it.

The southerners have compensated to fix this bastardization of the language by now using "all y'all" for the plural form.

Hey Joe, so which is correct: "Ya'll" like you used or "y'all" that I used? Of course you are from MS so you would know This can't be in the dictionary can it?!?

I hope I didn't use the wrong spelling, that would be so embarrassing!

It's "y'all". The word is a contraction between "you" and "all". The apostrophe replaces the letters "o" and "u".

It all depends on what sort of poo you are talking about. Dog poo? No thanks, I’ll use shampoo instead.

How about

- wait a sec. it’s always longer
- free rent. Rent is something that’s paid.
- does your dog bite? Yes, they eat.
- gun play. Really?
- monkey wrench. Never seen one.
- good grief. Never is grief good.
- up periscope. They go down?
- instant replay. Replays take several instances.
- cowboy. Most are men. Cowmen 🤠
- fountain pen
- brain fart

Just a few for consideration.

Cheers

Nobody needs insurance until they need it.

Well, yea obviously. I mean, if they didn't need it, then they didn't need it, but as soon as they need it, they need it because you just said they needed it. Tautologies, though true, never add anything to the conversation.

Y’all is both singular and plural. You in’s is perfectly acceptable as well. Don’t ask me, I was just born here. The hardest thing for Yankees to understand about the south is that coke is generic term for a soda. All sodas are cokes but only a Coca Cola is a Coke.
