I have an insect fogger that I use when I arrive at a campsite and use it again when they get bad again. I always tell the campers around me that I'm going to spray and most of the time they are happy for me to do it. It kills mosquitos at their sites too.

I use a lemon or orange scented lotion on my arms and legs, keeps mosquitoes and chiggers at bay. I also found an app for my android phone called bug repel which mimics frequencies of predator insects so they think they will be lunch instead of you. It helps, as well, when out walking to wear an Off belt clip fan with the repellant oil in it. That's what my spousal unit wears. He also keeps a fake candle with the citronella scent that he turns on in his trailer when working in there on his powerchute... works ok.

Yes, most (if not all) of the clip-ons work quite well, as long as you are more or less immobile. If you move around, they become less effective.

ok, great information. did pick up a solor powered zapper. It was on clearance but could not resist trying yet something else to knock some of those suckers off. Also additional citronella candles. see how that goes.

We had a neighbor that had a large portable fan and he said that it helped a lot on their site. Lately even with a fairly strong breeze those pesky things are still after us.

I suggest keeping pet bats or put up a bird house for swallows at your campsite.
