Cornerstone vs used Prevost

First I thought I was crazy but now I'm considering it. I was ready to pull the trigger on a used 2012 Cornerstone (8000 miles) for 350k. While looking for one I would occasionally visit the Prevost ads and looked at two in person. One that I really liked was a 2006 Prevost Royale with 46000 miles. Could be bought for 450k. I pull a 30' stacker trailer and travel from the east coast to the west coast so hills are inevitable. I'm going to make a decision this week and can go either way at this point. I can see the advantages of the Entegra as far as the remaining one year warranty goes, but long term I'm thinking the Prevost will hold up better. Any input from members would be appreciated ; )

X2 on the Prevost, just have the hitch inspected by a reputable company (pref. Prevost) to ensure the hitch will handle the stacker....as you know, they're HEAVY.

Prevost is a bus and it was designed to run over the road, that's my pick. I was in the bus business for 25 yrs but we used MCI's.

Were you pullin' the stacker with your '02 American Eagle?
The Prevost will be the winner here. I had an MCI I was going to convert but opted out due to the extensive work.....................and $$$. Those coaches are built like Sherman tanks.

Maybe a new King Air would be the ticket. Read a lot of bad stuff about Entagra on here lately. 2006 is getting old and all the audio video equipment is obsolete! Just get a new whatever with 600 HP and go on your way.

The one thing n the back of my mind is that I'd be looking at an 8 year old coach already going with a Prevost, vs a 1 year old coach if I went with the Cornerstone. Also there is the up front cost difference on both as well as the long term cost to own. Not sure which one will win on the cost to own. I think I would be ok going with either one initially coming from a single axle 400 HP. Handling wise I'm sure the Prevost would kill the Entegra but that being said the Entegra drives pretty nice! If it wasn't for the fact that the Prevost I'm looking at was so "old", I think it would be a no brainer. That being said, I could never afford a new Prevost, and most of the Prevosts I've been looking at show very well and appear to be meticulously maintained.

Ok, boiled down to the bottom line! Couldn't make what I felt was the right deal on an 8 year old Prevost, which also did not have the modern amenities my better half recognized, so I ended up making a deal on a 2013 Entegrity
Cornerstone. K3, 600 HP, Bath plus 1/2, dishwasher, washer plus dryer, 1300 miles on it , ; )! , So many more options that I need..... I travel cross country so ill have a good feeling soon enough! ; )

Spreading bad vibes, bud, about Entegra. Curious where your reading all the bad...see you occasionally on that thread. No problems any different than any other coaches and few if any class problems. Newmar and Entegra seem on a par coach-wise, with Newmar having some flexibility pluses, but Entegra having some price point for amenities pluses.

JMHO, but Cornerstone will pull those hills and is doing it now. Not questioning that Prevost is solid, but why buy seven years old, when you can get a lot of coach that gets the job done, is still in warrantee, and has best practices customer service in the industry.

Seen you fishing in several threads...think you need to get to some dealers or shows and see for yourself what your looking at versus your application...
Newmar KingAire $850K
Entegra Cornerstone $410K
if you can afford it, Newell $1.2M + (and looking good at Tampa RV Show)
Prevost $1.8M +

There is a broad range of capability at price points from Cornerstone up. Much of that cash is in amenities. How much engine do you NEED, then price the amenities you WANT, then start asking questions and reading up.

Again, JMHO

He bought the Cornerstone! Now he needs to come to Summerfest to show it off!
