Same principle...we live in central FL, which is a mecca for snowbirds. I know people who whine & complain every year when the snowbirds come down. The wait in restaurants is longer, for example. My take on it is bring your money and spend, spend, spend!!! They definitely help our local economy. Why some people don't get that is beyond me.

So many people act like visitors are like Aliens trying to probe us. If it's too busy, go at a different time. I find Costco to be much more manageable after 5 pm. People are more distracted nowadays. They shop and talk on the phone, don't watch where they are going, and feel their time is more important than anyone else's. No amount of complaining, or dirty looks is going to change anything. Like I said, I just go to Costco after 5pm.

Similar situations elsewhere. When we lived on the southern border we quickly learned not to visit Costco or Walmart or Target, etc. on weekends. Way to crowded and most of the customers in such a hurry, etc. Sometimes it sounded & felt like we were in a foreign country, eh?

Maybe they should take a lesson from the RGV. Signs everywhere.
Welcome back Winter Texans.

The 'Other' Border

I wish that the thousands coming through our southern borders every day were bringing money........... Even if they shopped at my Costco.

Just like "Muddypaws" said.....let's put this into perspective. We who live in Southern California and those in Arizona and Texas would LOVE for this to be the issue from a neighboring country. We would gladly trade their problem for ours.

Costco shoppers in Washington state are ready to start a border war with Canadians, who they say swarm the big-box store like locusts, leaving empty shelves, long lines and no place to park.

Amnesty went into effect 15 August, 2012. Why complain about the balance of trade being in our (USA) favor?

Besides the revenue Canada residents bring to the States, we should NEVER forget what a great neighbor Canada has been for so many years.

Why would anyone in their right mind complain about our neighbors coming into our country to spend money?
Wah, wah, wah....................

We have been in many Costco's, Canada and US. Very rare that there isn't a line up at the check outs. It seems just a sign of the times, rudeness and the me first syndrome and not only at Costco!

Last spring, Costco opened a new store in Pharr Texas just across the border from Reynosa Mex.
It was built to support the Locals, Winter Texans, and the large shopping assembly from Mexico.
Last ear the wealthy from Monterrey Mex.(Mex. Richest city) charted jets to the RGV for Christmas shopping. And they were not the Cartels, they are the businessmen, workers, and owners of the factories, of all the stuff we buy in the states. GM, Ford, Carrier,John Deer and many other large factories are in Mex. So it is great that they bring some of that money back and spend it in the USA.
Costco and I welcome it!
