What majority "cultural practices" are being scrapped?

I Will refrain from voicing my total disgust of the Academic's warm and fuzzy feelings "PC interpretation" of the USA Constitution and it's amendments.
OR the "re-writing" of American History so that it will not "Offend" anyone..
The Constitution and It's amendments guarantee EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL...IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE EQUAL RESULTS FOR ALL! (Participation "awards" anyone?)

Whatever happened to - Live, and let live ?

and for the record, I prefer to be called an RV-American !!

Personally, contrary to popular belief, I think we Americans do a bang up job of getting along with one another.. I just wish the fringes of both sides would stop fanning the flames of discontent !!

If you need any evidence of my above statement, the next time we have a disaster, look at all the people helping each other..

That is something to be considered but is often overlooked by the folks who push PC agendas.
You must mean, for example, how a few boat loads of European people landed in what was to become America and accepted and adopted the cultural practices of the majority Indian population. What many people forget is that the only constant is change. It's how we have advanced the human race for thousands of years. I will ask the same question as another poster, what cultural practices are being scrapped? One of the greatest quotes ever, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." JC

That has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion! Straw man at best. We are talking about equal and considerate treatment of all people, not how well they do in life. However, do you really feel all people in the US are given equal opportunities? If so, please explain how.

If racial diversity is such a prestigious goal, how come we accept the NFL and the NBA as they are?

Now, gimme a minute and I'll come up with 100 more.

In ten seconds I found one: Colon Powel. Was born 5Apr37 to Jamaican immigrant parents, a seamstress and a shipping clerk, in Harlem, New York. Wore four stars on his US Army uniform and later answered the phone: "Hello, this is the freaking Secretary of State." Not bad for a black kid from Harlem who went to college in the late 50's.

If you look, there are hundreds of thousands of examples.

You mean like the elderly, the very young, orphans, the disabled, veterans?

Isn't this really what society and governments are for? Or is it just to create a military to protect our border

[Mod Edit] I don't think it's time to complain about political correctness.

No, I mean the criminals, career welfare recipients, drug addicts, people who make poor decisions and want my good decisions to bail them out.

And NO, that is not what governments are for, until recently. Government is to provide for the common good; infrastructure, borders, military, police, etc. Do you know who did welfare before our "progressives" figured out how to use someone else's money? Here's a clue -- they name their hospitals after saints and figures from religion. Wow, read a book.

No need for ad hominem.

You're talking about the "bend the knee" type of protests, right? Protest has been with us since Day 1. I don't think we began standing for the anthem until WWI.

If you mean "Talent should win out", then I have a bridge to sell you. It's a great concept though. However, you're probably talking about affirmative action which is certainly controversial.

X2.....and don't forget that when most of us were in public schools the Christmas play always had religious Christmas Carols in them, now you can't even reference anything to religion in a public school, it's now a "Holiday Tree" rather than a Christmas Tree, Christmas Break is now "winter break", and Easter Break is now "spring break". Some schools have even gone as far as to remove the word "God" from the pledge of allegiance...if they even do it at all anymore. It goes on and on if you really look back and be honest about it. So yes a lot of cultural changes all in the name of being politically correct. Some people forget what the principles our Country was founded on.
